COMPASSION

Compassion is not a weak word. It is, in fact, one of the dirtiest words in the human language. It means “to suffer with”.
Compassion is not theoretical but practical. It involves doing, not just thinking about or simply desiring change. It is heart and hands. Compassion must lead to action. In Compassion DTS you’ll learn and experience God’s heart of compassion for you as well as for the world’s poor and needy, the marginalized, and children at risk. Join Compassion DTS and get dirty!
Desperation seems to surround us on all sides…poverty, disease, gender based injustices, illiteracy and so much more. It all breeds a sense of hopelessness. Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth and the life.” Jesus Christ brings hope to the hopeless. Our desire is to walk out in truth and life, bringing hope to the poor and needy around the world.
The Compassion DTS is designed to demonstrate to the student how they can reach the poor and needy of the world with the Gospel. Each student will learn how to meet practical needs in the lives of people, as well as share the need for a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Someone once said, “I do not care how much you know until I know how much you care.” Outreaches will extend into local needy communities as well as abroad.
